GS-1 for Korg OASYS ©

KARO KGS-1
It was in 1981 that Yamaha presented their first commercial polyphonic FM synthesizers, the GS1 and the GS2, introducing multi-operator equation generators to contemporary music. Nearly three decades ago, the operation of the GS1 and the GS2 was a complete mystery to all but the most mathematically orientated.
Unfortunately, both machines were pure preset instruments, capable of playing only such voices which were supplied on little magnetic memory sticks. The amazing sound and the great musical action of the GS1, particularly, made this instrument a synthesizer highly esteemed by many megastars of modern music. Meanwhile the GS1 is legendary.
In this new KARO library, KGS1, Peter Jung introduces 128 newly designed programs which are based on the single and unique two times four operators based FM algorithm forming the basis of the sound generation of GS1. All sounds are produced with the same algorithmic FM structure, whose amazing versatility is impressively proven by the KGS1 library.
KGS1 presents warm and realistic strings, choirs, brass and woodwind instruments, which are complemented with electronic and acoustic piano emulations, percussive sounds like bells and vibraphone and, last but not least, synthesizer and SFX sounds.
Do you remember the great CP-70 emulation of the GS1? Or Edo Zanki’s electronic piano of „ Die Tänzerin“? KGS1 has them ready for you on the OASYS.

KARO presents 26 short sequences in MP3 format, presenting a small glimpse of what the KGS1 programs can do for you.
