FM-1 for Korg OASYS ©

"KARO KFM-1" reflects the vintage voicing of the Yamaha TX-816 synthesizer. Since the TX-816 consisted of eight separate DX7 modules, called TF-1 by Yamaha, layering of programs in combinations was the prime goal of this new KARO MOD-7 library.
Setting out from the original TX-816 voices developed decades ago by the late Gerd Führs, Peter Jung polished and compiled a set of 128 combinations and 256 programs, all contained in the KFM-1 to bring the TX-816 back to modern life.

The 256 programs reflect the programming of the eight separate TF-1 modules of the TX-816:
There are eight groups of thirty-two programs, the first thirty-two programs emulate the first TF-1, the next thirty-two programs go into the next TF-1, and so on.
The KFM-1 library demonstrates, how the combining of single programs into combination brings a surprising dimension into the FM sound creation, yielding highly dynamic and still convincing emulations of mechanical, i.e. acoustical, as well as electronic instruments, like guitars, strings, brass, pianos and synth pads.

The combinations make the difference! Many of the programs and the combinations have been tailored to be controlled by an expression pedal, like e.g. KORG’s EXP-2, allowing an impressive real-time control while playing live on stage or in the studio.
KARO presents eleven short sequences in MP3 format, presenting a small glimpse of what the KFM-1 combinations can do for you.
